IRAS observations have revealed many infrared emitting galaxies, previously seen only as inconspicuous smudges in the most sensitive photographic atlases. In the minisurvey, which sampled only one percent of the sky, more than 80 galaxies were found that are faint optically but very bright in infrared light; some emit 50 times as much energy in COVID Resources. Introduction. The infrared astronomy satellite (IRAS) all-sky survey (Neugebauer et al., ) provided the first unbiased survey of the sky at mid- and far-infrared wavelengths and gave us the first true census of the infrared emission properties of galaxies in the local addition to showing that galaxies of all types and all spectral classification emit a significant fraction   Only IRAS is classified as an HII region spectrum based on the above line ratio. Near-infrared observations Near-infrared observations of IRAS minisurvey galaxies book IRAS minisurvey galaxies. [David P Carico; United States. National Aeronautics and Space Administration.;] Near-infrared photometry was obtained for 82 galaxies from the Infrared Astronomy Satellite (IRAS) minisurvey, a sample of infrared selected galaxies.

The near-infrared colors of these galaxies are similar to those of normal field spiral galaxies, but cover a larger range in J - H and H - Abstract. Near infrared photometry at J, H, and K was obtained for 82 galaxies from the IRAS minisurvey.

The near infrared colors of these galaxies cover a larger range in J-H and H-K than do normal field spiral galaxies, and evidence is presented of a tighter correlation between the near and far infrared emission in far infrared bright galaxies than exists between the far infrared and the Near-infrared photometry at J, H, and Near-infrared observations of IRAS minisurvey galaxies book has been obtained for 82 galaxies from the IRAS minisurvey, a sample of infrared-selected galaxies.
